Machico is about ten minutes from the airport and fifteen from our office in Santa Cruz, so delivery here is easy and costs nothing. Give us the address and a time when you book.
It is a good base for the east of the island. Ponta de São Lourenço starts a short drive away, and the run across to Porto da Cruz and Santana on the north coast is one of the better drives on Madeira — all of it on roads a small car handles perfectly well.
Unlimited kilometres matter more here than most people expect: the island is small but the roads are not straight, and a week of proper exploring adds up. They are included, along with full insurance and IVA.
